Who We Are

Anastasia Sahu

Anastasia Sahu

Anastasia Sahu

Founder, President

I was inspired by volunteer experience to create a solution to a problem that is very tangible and local, but often overlooked: malnutrition. The solution: appliances that can provide sustainable empowerment to increase access to nutritional meals. I think one of the most powerful things that can be done is working with your local community to fix problems that are right here, right now, in the most sustainable way possible. Human connection is my most powerful motivator.

Public Health Chair

Hello, I am currently studying Public Health Sciences in the School of Public Health and I am hoping to minor in Business. Some fun facts about me are: I like to travel, I love to cook and bake, I love botanical gardens, and one of my strongest values is helping others. One thing that motivates me to be an agent for change is hope for a better future that is not only inclusive, but reflective. Other things that motivate me include family, faith, love, education, and the people that I surround myself with!

My interest in food inequity began through my involvement as a  volunteer in my hometown at the Nevada Food Bank, where I helped to sort  food and goods to be delivered to shelters around my hometown in Reno. I  understand that food insecurity is something that is vital to  overcome, but the ability for proper nutrition and sustaining a healthy diet during challenging times is often improbable.

After my undergraduate education I plan on  joining the Peace Corps for a few years and then eventually applying to  medical school after that, although I’m undecided as to what my  concentration will be. My main passion in life is helping those in need  and I look forward to being able to spend my life doing so.

I am a nursing student also pursuing a global health minor. I’m  interested in learning about different cultures and passionate about  food, health and wellness, and exploring nature! There is still so much  for me to learn about the world and every opportunity that I have is a  learning experience.
